In April 2004 Blunt Bros™, the "brother" café to NAC™ was set ablaze and the entire building burned to the ground destroying not only Blunt Bros, but the neighboring businesses as well, narrowly missing the New Amsterdam Café™. Since the loss of Blunt Bros™, the New Amsterdam Café™ has continued to evolve and flourish as North America's Premiere Smoke Friendly Café.
